LDV New Zealand, recently acquired by Inchcape New Zealand, has entered an exclusive automotive relationship as the official vehicle partner for the Asian Construction Expo, which will be held on 4 November 2023 in Auckland.
Inchcape expanded its presence in New Zealand in early August, growing its distribution footprint and entering retail operations in the New Zealand market. The company acquired the distribution and vehicle leasing operations and proudly welcomed LDV (Maxus, the commercial arm of SAIC) and SsangYong as distribution brand partners. In doing so, Inchcape also entered retail operations in New Zealand with five owned dealerships in Auckland, Taupo, Wellington, and Christchurch.
Two months after the acquisition, the LDV brand is already forging new relationships, with this exciting vehicle partnership providing LDV with an opportunity to connect with the New Zealand Asian construction community.
At this one-day event, held at Manukau’s Due Drop Events Centre, product suppliers, councils, regulatory bodies, and industry leaders join Asian architects, designers, builders, electricians, developers, and other specifiers to collaborate, learn, and explore business opportunities.
What sets the Asian Construction Expo apart from other industry events is that it offers a complete strategy to reach the New Zealand Asian construction market. It is the perfect platform for LDV New Zealand to showcase its world-class T60 bi-turbo double-cab ute, as well as its Deliver 3 and Deliver 9 vans.
The BEV (battery electric vehicle) versions of the aforementioned models will be the focal point on the day, to showcase LDV’s electrification range to the commercial market. The LDV range will be displayed to an audience that considers their vehicle a tool of their trade and to those who need a reliable, purpose-led ute or van to get their job done.
LDV New Zealand Head of Brand Marketing Daile Stephens says she considers it a real coup for the brand to be partnering with the Asian Construction Expo for the first time.
“LDV offers New Zealand’s largest range of commercial vehicles to keep Kiwi businesses moving. With the recent Inchcape acquisition of the distribution of the LDV brand, this is an opportunity as the brand custodians, to showcase the LDV brand in new and exciting environments,” says Stephens.
“As the New Zealand construction industry has strong Asian representation, this is an ideal event to be paired with as the official vehicle partner to reach decision-makers and influencers from this community.
“The Asian Construction Expo will also enable attendees to take advantage of some serious savings on new LDV vehicles and is a great opportunity to see our electric range of vans and New Zealand’s only battery electric ute – our eT60 – in the flesh.”
Ian Watt, General Manager of The CMS Group, the parent company behind the Asian Constriction Expo, says he is thrilled to be partnering with LDV and supporting their growth in New Zealand.
“There are many synergies with our brands, including our shared commitment to supporting the Asian construction community with the materials, equipment, and expert advice they need,” says Watt.
LDV is committed to giving Kiwi businesses the power to deliver day after day and the three-vehicle electric commercial range – eT60 double cab ute, as well as the eDeliver 3 and larger eDeliver 9 vans – that will be on display at the Asian Construction Expo are no exception.
LDV has a global reputation for building world-class vehicles and New Zealand’s sole electric ute, the eT60 is at the brand’s performance forefront. With a regular retail price of only $79,990, it qualifies for the maximum $7015 Clean Car Discount rebate, however, the LDV team will have some great deals on the day of the event to attendees, which will see some serious savings.
Complementary to its impressive standard specifications, the eT60 boasts equally remarkable output specs. These can be accredited to its 150kW/310Nm electric motor partnered with an 88.55kWh battery, which provides enough energy for up to 325km and a fast charge of 80 per cent in 40 minutes when using a DC charger.
LDV’s smaller electric van, the eDeliver 3 was the first proper, completely purpose-built mainstream electric van to go on sale in New Zealand. Designed from the ground up for electric power only, the eDeliver 3 is compact, lightweight, and can carry a payload of 905kg. There’s also the added benefit of six cargo area floor strapping rings and non-slip flooring.
The eDeliver 3 comes with a 90kW/255Nm e-motor, AC and DC charging options, as well as a 50.23kWh battery. The width of the compartment is 1665mm and the cargo area offers optimal ease of loading with the short wheelbase for the van of 4.8 cubic metres in cargo capacity.
The next size up in LDV’s electric van range is the eDeliver 9 which comes with a 150kW/310Nm e-motor and a choice of two battery configurations, 51.5Kwh and 88.55 Kwh with AC and DC charging as standard.
With plenty of space and support, the eDeliver 9 is built to help you handle long days on the road and offers eight adjustable driver seat options ranging from standard to comfort, with added lumbar support and armrest.
Available in three models, the large load area of the eDeliver 9 van offers a substantial 9.66m cubed volume in the ‘Big’ model (the equivalent of two standard pallets), which extends to 10.97m cubed in the ‘Bigger’ model (the equivalent of three standard pallets). The model doesn’t ease off when it comes to payload, with up to 1200kg in the eDeliver9 Big and 1160kg in the eDeliver9 Bigger. There’s also the added benefit of eight recessed load tie-down points and a cargo mat.
The third option is the eDeliver 9 Cab Chassis, which leaves a blank canvas on which businesses can build a cargo area to suit their needs. Designed for comfort, not just pulling power, the eDeliver 9 Cab Chassis is packed with advanced safety features and all the latest tech to take your office on the road.
The LDV New Zealand team says it looks forward to showcasing these electric vehicles at special pricing for attendees at the Asian Construction Expo on Saturday, November 4 at the Due Drop Centre, from 11 am to 4 pm, at 770 Great South Road, Wiri, Manukau.
