Mahindra will have new models on display at the National Fieldays at Mystery Creek this year.
The first is the new XUV700 SUV. This front-drive, mid-size five seater is just under 4.7m long, with a 2750mm wheelbase. It will come with a Euro 6 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine making 140kW and 380Nm. Standard fit is a six-speed Aisin automatic and the new SUV is expected to arrive in New Zealand for sale in March 2023.
No details yet on the local model line up but the XUV700 (in India at least) can be had with dual 10-inch screens featuring Amazon Alexa voice control. Other features include wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic roof, LED lights, and the option of a third row of seating.
It was granted a five star Global NCAP rating too thanks to a range of active safety features and seven air bags, though these only feature on the higher spec’d models.
The other newbie on show in Hamilton is the ‘tough new’ Scorpio N. This is a more rugged type of body-on-frame SUV, powered by a 2.0-itre turbo diesel (which also meets Euro 6 emissions regs) engine with 130kW and 400Nm.
No word on transmission availability for NZ, but it has both a six-speed manual and auto option in India, while the Drive modes are labelled Zip, Zap and Zoom. It offers switchable 4×4 with low range, a locking diff and Terrain modes. It has wishbone suspension up front and a Watt’s link solid axle arrangement at the rear. It’s expected on sale by the middle of 2023.
Also, on display for the first time in New Zealand will be the automatic Pik Up S11 4×4 double cab ute. The new automatic Pik Up double cab will be on sale from the 1st December 2022.
National Fieldays is on from Wednesday September 30th to Saturday 3rd November 2022 while Mahindra on Stand J40.
