As the next generation of Mercedes-AMG performance vehicles goes hybrid, a limited run of 999 Mercedes-AMG E 63s are being produced in saloon and wagon form to honour the V8’s 36-year history.
The Final Edition is available exclusively in matte graphite grey magno paint with unique grey decals stretching along each side of the car, somewhat reminiscent of the 1986 W124 AMG Hammer’s two-tone look.
Gloss black exterior elements can be found wrapped around the body including a front splitter, badging, and twin tailpipe trims.
Continuing with the dark theme is a set of gloss black forged wheels to accentuate the car’s exterior.
Stepping into the interior, you can find performance seats wrapped in grey and black nappa leather with contrasting yellow stitching.
Exclusivity is continued inside with an “AMG Final Edition” badge and “1 of 999” designation making this a true collector’s item.
Under the bonnet, you can find the usual 450kW 4.0 bi-turbo V8 mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive system.
However, this is the last time you can opt for the V8. It’s expected the next E 63 will receive a version of the hybrid drivetrain that will debut in the next C 63. This will poke out 500kW in the smaller car, so we can expect the E 63 to receive even more power when it lands.
