KTM is assuming distribution of MV Agusta motorcycles in the Australia and New Zealand markets, the transition to be completed by September 2023.
This follows the recent purchase of MV Agusta shares by KTM. The Austrian firm now owns just over 25 per cent of the Italian motorcycle manufacturer. It also owns Husqvarna, GasGas and WP suspension brands. KTM already has the rights to distribute MV Agusta in the US, Canada and Mexico.
Locally, KTM Group Australia & New Zealand will provide the MV Agusta dealership network with support for sales, logistics, marketing and customer service, as well as the spare parts supply.
Urban Moto Imports has been handling MV Agusta sales for almost a decade in the Australia and New Zealand market. The currently available models include Brutale 1000, Brutale 800, Dragster and Rush naked bikes, the fully faired F3 and Superveloce sportsbikes, along with the Turismo Veloce adventure bike range.
Jan Nobis, MD of KTM Group Australia & New Zealand commented “We are looking forward to bringing the KTM Group professionalism and service to the MV Agusta dealerships and customers. This is an extremely exciting and special brand, one that fits very well into our network.”
Joseph Elasmar, CEO Urban Moto Imports, said the change “opens up more doors for MV Agusta in terms of access to components, improved supply chain and exciting product development.”
