Honda is ready to welcome back the HR-V to the New Zealand line-up with the third generation model on sale here soon. Honda has been without a contender in the compact SUV realm for more than a year now, but pricing for this vital new model is now up on the Honda website.
What is the NZ price of the Honda HR-V Sport?
The HR-V Sport starts at $45,800 (plus$995 on road costs), with the website stating stock is available now. There is just one variant listed, which is powered by the e:HEV two motor hybrid system. That’s the one where the electric motor does most of the driving, the engine used primarily to charge the battery. This then is a hybrid where no plug-ins are required. Nor does it require the hassle of road user charges.
The electric motor kicks out 96kW and 273Nm of torque, while Honda states the fuel consumption at 4.3L/100km as per WLTP standards.
What features does the HR-V have?
Some of the standard features include heated front seats, a leather appointed, heated steering wheel and dual zone climate control.
There is a seven-inch multifunction colour display along with a dash mounted nine-inch touch screen with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay. A subscription to the Honda Connect app is included for the first three years.
There are lots of safety features too with adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring, traffic jam assist and traffic sign recognition.
The Sport rolls on 18-inch wheels and inside, it has Honda’s Magic Seat in the back with over 18 ways to configure the seating to accommodate passengers and/or your cargo.
The HR-V comes with Honda’s five-year unlimited kilometre warranty, while the hybrid battery is covered for 8 years/160,000km.
