Husqvarna Motorcycles has shown off its new Expedition variant, a hardcore touring addition to the Norden 901 range, designed to go pretty much anywhere on the planet.
Facilitating its call-of-the-wild transformation are long travel WP XPLOR suspension components. It is also finished in a new colour scheme to differentiate it from the stock Husqvarna Norden 901 which we rode last year. Expedition comes with added touring kit as well.
The WP XPLOR suspension offers 240mm of travel each end. The suspension is fully adjustable, allowing riders to fine-tune the compression, rebound, and preload settings according to personal preferences.
Comfort accessories fitted as standard include heated grips and rider’s seat, and a touring windshield. There’s also a standard luggage solution set-up that integrates with the bodywork and offers up to 36 litres of storage.
Powered by a 78kW/100Nm 889cc parallel-twin, the Norden 901 Expedition offers power aplenty for taking on challenging terrain. There are four switchable ride modes (Street, Rain, Offroad, Explorer). The chro-moly trellis frame is designed to deliver agility, rider feedback, and comfort for long days in the saddle.
Other standard features include a centre stand, engine guard, and Connectivity Unit. With the Husqvarna app installed onto a smartphone, and connected to the motorcycle via Bluetooth, riders will benefit from downloadable maps, turn by turn navigation, phone calls in and out, and real-time traffic information. Music selection and volume can also be controlled using the handlebar-mounted buttons.
There’s also switchable cornering ABS, a quickshifter, cornering TC with nine levels of rear wheel slip available, a slipper clutch, tubeless spoked wheels and Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres optimised for street use and off-road antics. A 19-litre fuel tank provides a riding range of up to 400km.
Expect the bike to be available here from around May this year, with a list price of $29,990.
