Pricing for the INEOS Grenadier has been announced, with the cheapest 4×4 starting at $95,000.
Three trim models of the old school off-roader are coming to New Zealand, starting with the basic Grenadier up to the Fieldmaster Edition.
All Grenadiers have a 3.0-litre, straight-six motor sourced from BMW. That is mated with an eight-speed automatic gearbox with manual override.
The chassis is a box-section ladder frame, and the body is made from galvanised steel.
As for looks, the Grenadier is inspired by the classic Land Rover Defender but features a modern twist.
Beyond the basic Grenadier package, you have the Trialmaster and Fieldmaster Editions. Both models are identically priced at $107,225.
In addition to the basic Grenadier specs, the top-of-the-line models get 17-inch steel wheels (Trialmaster) or 17-inch alloy wheels (Fieldmaster).
The Trialmaster also gets a snorkel air-intake, an access ladder and an auxiliary battery.
The Fieldmaster is more suited to traditional road-user and comes with carpeted floors and heated front seats.
By far, the best feature of purchasing a Trailmaster or Fieldmaster Grenadier is the Belfast Jacket you receive. You can’t drive a vehicle of this calibre if you don’t at least look the part.
Interested Kiwis can order the Grenadier via their website from mid-May.
The off-roader will also be sold in four NZ retailers.
