The New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA), also known as Waka Kotahi, has issued new information for vehicle dealers and importers regarding the upcoming changes to the Clean Car Discount scheme on 1 July 2023.
Details regarding new fee and rebate pricing can now be found on the agency’s website, along with updates to EECA Vehicle Emissions and Energy Economy Labels (VEEEL).
It says that updated fee and rebate pricing is outlined on Rightcar, Rightcar dealer resources, and Fuelsaver.
Any new VEEEL labels printed in June 2023 will now include new Emissions text information under the vehicle make and model names.
NZTA also stated that from 1 July, “the new Vehicle Energy Economy Labelling Regulations will require all labels on vehicles be removed and replaced with new labels which will display the updated fees and rebates to consumers.”
