At the recent launch of new car brand Omoda Jaecoo, Country Manager Sheldon Humphries announced a partnership with environmental agency Keep New Zealand Beautiful.
“Keep New Zealand Beautiful’s commitment to the environment aligns with Omoda Jaecoo’s seamlessly”, he said.
The announcement was made off the back of the release of the Omoda E5 electric vehicle. Both the Omoda E5 BX and EX models will be available nationwide from April. They offer consumers an innovative and sustainable option, with a highly competitive starting price of $47,990. The higher spec EX costs $54,990.
Mr Humphries said of the new partnership “We hope that by partnering with Keep New Zealand Beautiful we will cement our commitment to New Zealand and support the work of this important organisation for future generations”.
Keep New Beautiful CEO, Heather Saunderson, said “We are excited to welcome Omoda Jaecoo as a partner, and we look forward to working together to make a positive impact in Aotearoa”.
Keep New Zealand Beautiful began in 1967 as a government-led litter reduction campaign. Now it is one of the country’s leading environmental not-for-profit organisations. It is dedicated to creating sustainable and climate-literate communities. Its free educational programmes reach students from ECE level to secondary school. Over 138,500 students from 889 schools participated in their education programmes in 2022-2023.
Keep New Zealand Beautiful is dedicated not just to litter abatement but also to the creation of a more sustainable, ecologically diverse and pollution-free future for all New Zealanders.
Omoda Jaecoo has unveiled plans for two further plug-in models, the Omoda C9 PHEV and C7 PHEV. They will arrive in late 2024 and 2025, respectively.
