Since launching in New Zealand three years ago, the Haval Jolion has become a staple of the GWM line-up. The Jolion petrol models recently underwent a significant update while the Jolion Hybrid gets new clothes and a more sophisticated suspension set-up.
The Haval Jolion petrol receives a new grille, front bumper with black accents, and rear bumper to distinguish it from the outgoing model. Moving to the cabin, the ergonomics for the driver improve with the move to a four-way adjustable steering column.
The Haval Jolion Hybrid is a more significant update as it is based on a new model. That said, the Jolion platform and hybrid powertrain are the same as those in the runout variants. However, the skin is entirely new, as is apparent from fresh front and rear end designs. There’s also a multilink rear suspension set-up, offering an improved driving experience compared with the existing Haval Jolion hybrid.
The 1.5L 105kW/210Nm turbopetrol engine with seven-speed dual-clutch transmission carries over. Fuel consumption is rated at 8.1L/100km.
It is the same story for the familiar 1.5L petrol hybrid engine offering 140kW of power and 375Nm of twisting force. A combined fuel consumption of 5.1L/100km is claimed for Jolion Hybrid.
The petrol is available in Premium and Lux trims, the former with cloth upholstery, the latter with synthetic leather-accented trim. Colour options are red, blue, white, black and grey.
The Jolion Hybrid range features three spec levels, two the same as the petrol and it adds an Ultra variant. Colour options are white black, grey and blue.
Full pricing and features will become available soon. Haval Jolion runout pricing ranges from $27,990 to $35,990 for the Lux Hybrid.
