Notice is served that the new Mazda CX-80 will be unveiled next Thursday 18 April 2024 at 22.00 NZST.
The CX-80 is a completely new seven-seat SUV from Mazda. It will slot into the existing line-up between the CX-60 and range-topping CX-90.
CX-80 is the next model engineered using the company’s Large Architecture platform.
Evidently it will “combine progressive design anchored in Japanese aesthetics with superior technology and features”. Expect the CX-80 to be spacious, comfortable, versatile, and great to drive. Like all Mazdas it is infused with ‘Jinba Ittai’ (car and driver as one) for enhanced driving performance.
At almost five metres in length and with a wheelbase of over three metres, the CX-80 is longer, taller and has a significantly longer wheelbase than its CX-60 sibling. That gives it the room needed for three-row seating.
It will likely run with the longitudinally-oriented 3.0L IL6 engine and eight-speed auto that’s in the CX-60.
All will be revealed next Thursday evening.
