Skoda has released a teaser of its newly refreshed Octavia which is expected to be revealed in full very soon.
Some of its refreshments include a larger front grille that sits between a new set of headlights, while the tailgate has been bestowed with revised “Skoda” lettering.
Unfortunately for us, that’s all the Czech carmaker had to say about the updated Octavia, but several online reports suggest it will receive a revitaslised engine line-up.
With that being said, the current model on offer in New Zealand features a 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder making 110kW and 250Nm of torque, as well as a plug-in hybrid variant with 115kW and 350Nm at its disposal. It isn’t known if these will change but there’s talk of an inline three-cylinder finding its way under the bonnet.
As for the interior, spy shots dating back to mid-2023 suggest that there’s a new infotainment system and potentially a digital gauge cluster for the driver.
The new Octavia will be available as both a wagon and hatchback in overseas markets just as it was before, but it looks like Kiwi customers will continue to only be offered the former of the two.
Skoda says it will reveal its “modernised bestseller” shortly, which is likely to be sometime later this month or in March.
