Subaru New Zealand has announced that the new Crosstrek will arrive on our shores this June, introducing Kiwis to the brand’s reimagined version of a compact SUV.
Three variants of the model will go on sale when it lands, including two hybrids, with customers being able to book a test drive now.
The Crosstrek Premium petrol model comes with a 2.0-litre flat four-cylinder connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission, while two Crosstrek Hybrids will also be on offer which include a “premium” variant and feature a seven-speed auto.
A key feature found on the model is its “symmetrical” all-wheel drive system, meaning power is sent to all four wheels continuously to provide maximum traction and acceleration at all times.
Inside, occupants can find an 11.6-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a wireless phone charger, and a 360-degree camera.
All Crosstrek variants will come with a smart key and push-start ignition, automatic LED headlights, roof rails, power-folding door mirrors, and the aforementioned infotainment display as standard.
The model also receives Subaru’s latest generation of EyeSight crash avoidance technology, including speed sign recognition, a lane centering function, as well as the ability to recognise other road users ahead while traveling at lower speeds thanks to the system’s wide field of view.
Kiwis will be able to test drive and purchase the new Subaru Crosstrek in New Zealand from 9 June 2023.
