Subaru New Zealand has announced that just ten examples of the Outback XT Special Edition will be sold locally, with each boasting a series of unique styling appointments.
The incoming model combines aspects from two Outback variants into one, with the highly-limited model featuring both the X’s rugged exterior and XT Touring’s plush interior.
An exclusive Geyser Blue colour will adorn all ten examples, alongside a black rear garnish, badging, and mirrors. It’ll also stand out from the rest of the range with 18-inch dark grey metallic wheels, as well as green tie-down points and ‘Outback’ side badging.
Inside, occupants will find Nappa leather-clad seats, an electric sunroof, heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a Harman Kardon sound system, ventilated front seats, and a rear power tailgate that features a hands-free badge sensor.
Under the bonnet is a 2.4-litre turbocharged boxer four-cylinder that is capable of towing up to 2400kg. The highly-limited Outback is just as capable off the beaten path as its stablemates thanks to its 213mm ground clearance, all-wheel drive system, and eight-speed automatic transmission.
“In recent years we’ve had an incredibly popular run of special edition Subaru models in our performance line-up, with the Saigo WRX and Saigo WRX STI – which translates as ‘the last’ in Japanese,” says Wallis Dumper, Subaru of New Zealand Managing Director.
“These 10 Outback XT Special Editions will be our first-ever special edition Outbacks and I believe they will be a huge hit with our Kiwi customers.”
The Subaru Outback XT Special Edition is priced at $71,490 and all ten examples are set to arrive in New Zealand soon.
