Supercar lovers, you may want to look away as one of three Pagani Zonda HP Barchettas has been severely damaged as it was leaving a car event.
According to Motor1, the super-rare Zonda was participating in the Supercar Owners Circle in Croatia when a video shows the driver appearing to accelerate briskly following behind an Apollo IE. The resulting acceleration saw the back end step out and launch the car into an oncoming Ford Fiesta.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. Unfortunately, the owner of the $NZ27,850,233 supercar will be getting a hefty repair bill.
The impact saw the left-rear wheel and hub assembly separate itself from the car while much of the carbon fibre body work on the driver’s side (left hand drive) was damaged.
With any other car, that kind of damage would likely mean it would be written off. However, as the HF Barchetta is only one of three ever made, the owner will probably send it back to the Pagani factory in Italy for repair.
While the incident could have been worse, it seems the owner could do with a bit of driver training in the near future.
