Taupō’s first-ever Supercars event is all go for next month, but before the racing gets underway, fans will be treated to a new spectacle known as the ‘Track to Town’ journey.
On Thursday 18 April, all 24 drivers and their cars make the 8.6km drive from Taupō International Motorsport Park to the lakefront in Taupō.
The parade will begin at 3:45 pm, with fans being encouraged to line the streets along the route from the circuit, before being able to get up close with each Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro Supercar.
The route is as follows: Each car will travel along Broadlands Road, onto Tauhara Road, turn onto Spa Road, drive onto Tongariro Road, and turn onto Roberts Street before reaching Tapuaeharuru in Taupō.
Fans will also be able to take part in an autograph session near the ‘#LOVETAUPŌ’ sign in the town centre from 4:00 to 5:00 pm, before the cars head back to the circuit in preparation for Friday’s first practice session.

In addition to the main Supercars event, there will also be various support categories racing over the weekend, including Porsche Carrera Cup Australia, NZ Central Muscle Cars, Toyota Gazoo Racing 86 Series NZ, and Formula Ford NZ.
Away from the track, country singer Kaylee Bell will perform on Friday 19 April, while Six60 will perform on Saturday 20 April.
The inaugural ITM Taupō Super400 will take place over the weekend of April 19 to 21, 2024, at Taupō International Motorsport Park.
