Tesla has been excluded from the Vancouver International Auto Show as organisers fear the brand’s presence could stoke violence. It seems to be in response to numerous acts of vandalism and protests against Tesla and its CEO.
“The Vancouver International Auto Show has removed Tesla as a participant in this week’s event, after the automaker was provided multiple opportunities to voluntarily withdraw,” a statement said. “The Vancouver Auto Show’s primary concern is the safety of attendees, exhibitors, and staff. This decision will ensure all attendees can be solely focused on enjoying the many positive elements of the event.”

Musk’s association with Trump and his actions at the “DOGE” have led to a backlash against Tesla. Trump is also not popular in Canada thanks to his tariffs and wanting to take the country over and make it the “51st State.”
According to reports from the Canadian Auto Dealer outlet, a show official said; “The political position of this has absolutely no bearing on the final decision. This is purely to make safety a priority for our guests and attendees.”
Local authorities in British Columbia, where Vancouver is located, have removed some EV rebates from Tesla chargers, batteries and inverters.
The Vancouver Sun reported the British Columbia Premier, David Eby, as saying; “I think if tens of thousands of taxpayers’ money was going to Elon Musk they would want to throw up, so we removed them.”
