Tesla New Zealand has slashed the prices of its only two vehicles on sale here, with the Model 3 becoming more affordable than ever before.
The electric carmaker initially dropped the prices of all of its vehicles in both January and February this year, and later did the same in April.
Now comes yet another price cut which sees the Model 3 reach its lowest-ever price at $62,500 before on-road costs or $64,587 including ORC.
The Model 3s get even more affordable when we consider the fully electric sedan is eligible for the full Clean Car Rebate of $7015, bringing the grand total to $57,572 including ORCs.
Tesla also cut the price of its larger Model Y, the rear-wheel drive variant costing $67,500 before ORCs or $69,587 drive away.
Like its smaller sibling, the Model Y is also eligible for the full Clean Car Rebate which means its overall price comes to $62,587 including ORCs.
It’s worth noting that Tesla NZ no longer sells the Model S or Model X locally after the brand stopped making both models in right-hand drive earlier this year.
However, that won’t hamper the car company’s local success as the Model 3 and Model Y have been regular top sellers during the first half of 2023.
Ongoing price reductions will certainly make these models stand out amongst other similarly priced EVs such as the long range versions of BYD Atto 3, MG ZS EV and inbound MG4.
