Tesla has issued a recall for the Model 3 regarding its seat belts not performing as designed in the event of a collision, increasing the risk of injury to vehicle occupants.
The recall notice states that the second-row left seat belt buckle and centre seat belt anchor are among the faulty parts.
Resolving the problem requires the reassembly of both parts which may also need to be fastened to the correct specifications where necessary.
Tesla says, “the remedy will be provided free of charge.”
Affected vehicles include model year 2017 to 2022 Model 3s which can be checked via the VIN Recall Search tool on Tesla’s website here.
The campaign number for the recall is SB-22-20-004 while Tesla can be contacted via: [email protected]
