Every year, Kiwis vote on the brands they gain the most satisfaction from in the Reader’s Digest Quality Service Awards, including those related to the automotive industry.
The magazine recently announced who the winners are for 2024, giving New Zealanders an idea of who will treat them right when it comes to insuring a car, purchasing a vehicle, buying a set of tyres, and more.
Reader’s Digest editor-in-chief Louise Waterson says this year’s results were particularly challenging for consumers to decide on for a number of reasons.
“With inflation and the rising cost of living altering the spending habits of most households, New Zealanders need to be more discerning with their spending,” she added.
“Superior service, genuine care, and an individualised approach are all vital to building a business that enjoys the certainty of maintaining a customer’s loyalty. This year’s winning businesses understand that good customer service can make a customer’s day, and it can certainly make a business.”
Without further ado, AA Insurance was voted New Zealand’s top car insurer, followed by AMI Insurance in second.
First place in the Roadside Assistance category went to AA Roadservice, pipping State Insurance in second.
The car rental firm that satisfied Kiwis the most this year is Avis, while Budget took the silver award.
As for certified used car sales, Toyota Signature Class won the top award for customer service ahead of Honda Certified Used Cars in second.
Turners Cars struck gold in the Used Vehicle Dealerships category, followed by 2 Cheap Cars which earned the silver award.
Finally, Bridgestone was voted the country’s best tyre retailer for customer service, beating out Advantage Tyre Solutions (formerly Beurepairs).
