The Toyota Yaris Cross GR Sport has finally landed in New Zealand after it was announced last year.
It won’t be a fully fledged performance car like its hatchback GR Yaris sibling though, with the GR Sport instead getting exclusive exterior and interior features alongside revised suspension.
So what’s new? The top-spec variant stands out from the rest of the Yaris Cross lineup with distinguishing 18-inch alloy wheels and red or white two-tone exterior colour options.
Other additions include a new rear bumper garnish and unique front mesh grille with GR badging.
The interior has been finished in black with silver touches found throughout, along with GR front sports seats, and a GR steering wheel.
In terms of creature comforts and technology, occupants can expect to find dual-zone climate control, a head-up display, a panoramic view monitor, and rear privacy glass. A range of safety and driver assistance features come as standard.
Stiffer suspension has also been fitted to the GR Sport which is said to provide better steering, roll, and grip feel.
Under the bonnet is the familiar 1.5-litre three-cylinder hybrid found in the rest of the Yaris Cross lineup, producing 85kW and 120Nm of torque.
With regard to pricing and availability, the Toyota Yaris Cross GR Sport starts at $43,290 driveaway which includes all on road costs and is available to order now.
