With increasing competition from the Chinese sector, Triumph hits back with the Tiger Sport 660 that gains a host of new equipment. Moreover, it is available this time around in LAMS or full power guises (previously LAMS only). And the LAMS variant is no more expensive, despite the upgrades (still $15,990). Better yet, full power is the same price! Both are subject to ORCs.

Many of the updates are on rider-focused technology for 2025, raising the bar in a competitive market. With its IL3 engine and agile handling, it has all-round sport tourer writ large.

Triumph Motorcycles has added a new ‘Sport’ rider mode to the Road and Rain settings already available. There’s also smartphone connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation, and cruise control. An up and down quickshifter is another standard Tiger Sport 660 feature for 2025. Wait though because there’s more: it also comes with an IMU. That means cornering ABS and cornering traction control as standard.

A 660cc triple engine offers low down power, strong midrange and top end sizzle that’s synonymous with Triumph triples. Over 90 per cent of peak torque is on tap throughout the rev range. The 660cc mill develops 60kW at 10,250rpm and 64Nm at 6250rpm. A slip and assist clutch lightens the load for longer rides, especially with the standard fit quickshifter.

The LAMS variant makes 41kW and 60Nm at 6000rpm, just 4Nm down on the full power example.
Nimble and set for all-day rides
Showa suspension now has remote preload adjustment at the rear. That’s for ease of swapping between solo riding and to two-up touring. Up front are fixed USD forks. Nissin twin 310mm disc brakes and Michelin 5 Road tyres add to control and agility. Wet weight of 207kg and a seat height of 835mm make this an approachable bike for most.

Triumph views the Tiger Sport 660 as the ultimate middleweight all-rounder. That’s because it also features clever design details like the integrated pannier mounts, which makes adding luggage easy and seamless, a 17.2 litre fuel tank and an adjustable windscreen. The latter can be raised or lowered with one hand.

An upright riding position and a plush seat for two makes this a day-to-day work bike or weekend tourer. Integrated grab handles make things more secure for the pillion.

Other features include full-LED lighting, a large LCD display with full-colour TFT screen and an App enabling turn-by-turn navigation, phone calls, and music control.

Accessories include integrated panniers with colour coded inserts, a twin helmet top box, a luggage rack, a 30-litre roll bag, a dual comfort seat and a belly pan.

As with other Triumphs, this features 16,000km service intervals and is covered by a global two-year unlimited mileage warranty.

There are three colour options comprising green, red and white.

First examples arrive here in January.
