The new 2024 Vespa Primavera and Vespa Sprint S will be unveiled to the public at an upcoming Auckland event. Vespa Day marks the 78th anniversary of the company and is taking place next Saturday (25th May) at 230 Ponsonby Rd, Auckland, from 4pm until 9.30pm. Some tickets are still available here
Both bikes get significant updates for 2024 including new colours, all LED lighting and fresh instrumentation.
On each, the dashboard and handlebars are new, as are handgrips. They are redesigned for improved ergonomics and style, of course. Up front, the Vespa tie and grid are refreshed, as are air vents and details. In profile, there’s a new backshield, battery cover and wheel rim design. Primavera gets five-spoke grey rims, while Sprint S comes with six-spoke glossy pastel black rims, the spokes of which form a spiral pattern (as below).
Full LED lighting improves the visibility of the scooters at night. There are also the obvious advantages of added safety, energy savings and longer life than with a traditional bulb. Modern items include an anti-theft system (Immobilizer) while a USB port permits charging of a cell phone.
The main instrument panel has a new three-inch analogue-LCD display that shows all the relevant information in a concise way.
Vespa Primavera, the essence of the brand, comes in blue, grey, orange, white or green hues, paired with chrome finishes.
The Sprint S is a more modern interpretation of a sporty Vespa. For 2024 the Sprint S is available in similar colours to the Primavera, each with dedicated graphics and bold black or matte details.
Both models have the 150 engine, a four-stroke three-valve air cooled unit that’s EU5 compatible. Primavera is available with a 50cc unit as well. Vespa Elletrica is coming to New Zealand, offering zero emissions and 100km of range.
The Primavera kicks off at $7890 plus on road costs while the Sprint S will retail at $8090 + on roads. Check these out on Vespa Day. There are also some special offers on the remaining 2023 stock.
