Volkswagen has added another model to its people mover line-up with the introduction of the Multivan 7 TDI. It joins the existing plug-in hybrid (PHEV) petrol-electric powertrain.
Under the hood is a four-cylinder turbodiesel that outputs 110kW of power and 360Nm of torque. This new addition means a less expensive Multivan option for families who require a seven-seat lifestyle van.
Using the MQB platform, the Multivan 7 TDI offers a mix of technology, practicality and comfort. It also has dual sliding doors for ease of entry and exit for children and their car seats. And on those, five of the seven seats are removable or configurable in a number of various arrangements. That also makes luggage capacity highly variable. And there’s a multifunction table that can be located between the seats. It features three cupholders and a storage facility.
The General Manager of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles New Zealand, Kevin Richards, commented “This latest model offers everyday flexibility for large or extended families. With the highest standard of safety and two drivetrains to choose from, the Multivan range is perfectly suited for Kiwi’s wanting to do more than just A to B travel”.
The Multivan 7 TDI also has a five-star ANCAP safety rating thanks to driver assistance systems that include City Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Assist.
Volkswagen dealerships are now holding stock of the new Multivan 7 TDI. Pricing kicks off at $88,000 plus ORCs. The PHEV model is available from $94,500.
