Volkswagen’s highly anticipated electric vehicle range is officially on its way to New Zealand, arriving by 2023.
Four vehicles from the all-electric ID range will mark the start of Volkswagen’s New Zealand EV endeavour, including the ID.4, ID.5, ID.Buzz and ID.Cargo.
Plug-in hybrid (PHEV) vehicles have also been a solid contributor to Volkswagen’s ‘Way To Zero’ carbon-neutral commitment with the recent launch of the Multivan people mover.
Future models like the plug-in hybrid Golf, Tiguan, Touareg R, and Passat are scheduled to arrive in the country by 2023, which will also help the company reach its carbon-neutral goal by 2050.
“It’s our social responsibility to protect the environment and, as New Zealanders, it feels even more important we embrace and all work together towards a ‘Way to Zero’” said Greg Leet, General Manager of Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles.
Kiwis wanting to get a glimpse of what the future of driving holds in Aotearoa can view the new ID.4 and Multivan PHEV at The Car Store in Westfield Newmarket from June 28 to July 11.
