Kiwis can now rent a Tesla Model Y from Europcar New Zealand following its recent electric fleet expansion.
The new addition is the rental company’s third EV it will offer to customers alongside the Hyundai Kona and BYD Atto 3 of which it secured the exclusive rights to lease earlier this year.
As for the Model Y, Europcar NZ will supply the rear-wheel drive variant capable of 455km on a single charge with plenty of space inside for items like skis, furniture, luggage and more.
The fully electric SUV is available for short-, mid-, or long-term rent from the company’s Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch locations with monthly rental rates starting from $418.60 per week.
“Adding yet another electric vehicle model to our offering in New Zealand reiterates Europcar’s commitment to driving down carbon emissions in the markets we operate in, and being an advocate for zero-emission vehicles,” says Europcar Mobility Group Managing Director Benoit Garel.
Benoit adds that demand for electric rental vehicles has increased significantly in recent months, saying that the Model Y helps achieve both Europcar NZ and its customer’s sustainability goals.
